This is a full-day workshop. You receive lecture, discussion, practice, photography, and image critique during the day. There will be breaks throughout the day – we don’t want to completely exhaust you – including short breaks between modules and a lunch break.

We will provide water and snacks, plus coffee/tea as well. You are also encouraged to bring your own water/beverages, snacks, and lunch.

Katie Marie Edwards: Hello everyone! As some of you may not know me, I’d like to share a bit about my background in the modeling industry. I began my modeling journey when I was 12 years old at Barbizon USA and from there got signed with my first agency. I spent majority of my first few years on runways and in casting rooms for auditions on commercial, film and runway projects. My primary focus was acting throughout high school with trips to Los Angeles for intensive acting camps with one of the best coaches around! Dennis LaValle was known for coaching 2 main characters from Pretty Little Liars, Emit from Twilight, Victoria Justice and many other Disney stars. Once I went off to college to Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising I had to shift focus to local endeavors only. I began focusing more on modeling whenever I could for creative projects and acting in student films at the surrounding colleges. During covid I, as well as many others, had to put my work that I loved on pause, but once it was safe to continue I sat and had a heart-to-heart with my dad. I wasn’t sure how to start back up but I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I decided to put all my focus into my passion, expand my portfolio, network, and skill set to get to where I am now as a full-time traveling model!

Jessa Peters: Jessa has been modeling for over 20 years. She has experience in all types of modeling, including fashion, fine art, glamour and fitness. She has been published dozens of times internationally, online and in print magazines. She has been featured in numerous runway shows, music videos and the Hollywood film Song to Song filmed here in Austin. She has also had experience as a makeup artist, wardrobe stylist, and personal modeling coach. She was awarded people’s choice Best Fashion Model in the Austin Fashion Awards in 2010. Her many years of experience in many aspects of the modeling industry are a valuable resource for any aspiring model.

Doc List (Photographer): I’ve been a photographer of sorts for most of my life since my mid-teens. I’ve been a professional photographer for around 15 years and I’ve been working with models for most of that time. My work has included fitness, fine art, projects like my Austin Bodies Project and Naked Musicians, and dance. My Instagram account (@doclistphotography) has over 27,000 followers. I am almost exclusively a studio photographer who works with people.
